Interesting facts about Garnets
Garnets are very common worldwide. They come in many colors. What determines the value of a garnet is its size and clarity. Small garnets with few inclusions are often offered at a favorable price. However, if the garnet is 3 carats or larger, it costs many times more and is often more expensive than well-known gemstones of the same size. Rodolites, spessartites, pyropes, almandines, etc., are also very rarely offered in top quality from 3 carats upwards. The rarest and most valuable garnets are tsavorite (green garnet) and green demantoid. Both stones are highly sought after and, apart from the price, very difficult to obtain.
