99% of rubies in commercial circulation are treated. A small ruby is mixed with lead glass and then cut. However, a trained eye can recognize this under a 10x loupe or a microscope. Many rubies are also artificially produced using the fusion method, which are very similar to natural rubies.

Example: A 1-3 ct. ruby in the best color and loupe-clean costs several thousand to many thousands of euros depending on its size.

On internet sales platforms, rubies of 5-50ct. are often offered for about 30-50€. Apart from the fact that such large pieces are very rare and are not sold on the usual market at all, these are all treated or artificial stones. So don't be fooled by such offers.

My rubies mainly come from Winza (Africa), they are untreated and 100% natural. The rubies have few to many inclusions, but they are natural and have an affordable price.
