Interesting facts about Peridot
Also called olivine, it is a beautiful intensely green gemstone. It has a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the scale. The stones come from Tanzania, India, China, Pakistan, Arizona, etc. The colors range from green, yellowish-green, olive-green to brownish. It is very popular for jewelry as a main and accent stone. Like garnets, peridot is usually only offered in small stones. Large, pure stones are rare and expensive.
