Interesting facts about Quartz
Quartz is very common and comes in many varieties. Starting with the most well-known, white quartz, amethyst (violet), citrine (yellow), smoky quartz (brown), rose quartz (pink). The colors vary from dark to light. The most famous is amethyst, which is the most valued, as is citrine. 
However, there are also many special quartzes, such as ametrine, which consists of violet and yellow. The most beautiful ametrines come from Bolivia. Rutilated quartz, with its interwoven golden rutile, is also something special, to name just a few.
